Energy Efficiency is the use of technology that requires less energy to perform the same function. For example, replacing an incandescent bulb with an LED bulb that provides the same light is being energy efficient.
Energy Efficiency should not be confused with energy conservation; which is changing behaviours that result in the use of less energy. An example of energy conservation is changing your business hours so that you don’t have to turn on the lights as often.
Both energy efficiency and energy conservation are key elements in a successful sustainable energy reduction program.
